WEEK ONE | COSTA RICA BLACK LODGE COFFEE ROASTERS

Origin: Costa Rica
Region: La Pastora, Tarrazú
Process: Fully Washed
Roast: Light (City Roast)

Flavor Profile:
Vanilla · Graham Cracker · Brown Sugar

This coffee was selected by Alex Gale of Black Lodge Coffee Roasters (New Harmony, IN) as a reflection of collaboration, intention, and warmth.

Both roasters at Black Lodge—Alex and Tyler—developed this profile together after furthering their roasting education in Minneapolis. The result is a cup that’s comforting without being heavy, layered without being loud. A coffee meant to slow the moment down.

“I find this coffee to be representative of a collaborative effort to help warm the soul with the flavor notes that are offered. Remember—coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s a moment.”

WEEK TWO | GUATEMALA HONEY MOON COFFEE CO.

Origin: Guatemala
Farm: Finca Los Pinos
Process: Washed
Roast: Medium/Dark

Flavor Profile:
Chocolate · Almond · Plum Sweetness

This Guatemalan coffee is brought to you by Honey Moon Coffee and offers a grounded, balanced cup—rich chocolate and almond notes supported by a gentle plum-like sweetness.

This lot comes from Finca Los Pinos, produced by Patricia Ríos, whose work blends ancestral knowledge with a forward-looking approach to innovation and sustainability.

Located in the heart of the Chingo Volcano, which marks the border between Guatemala and El Salvador, Finca Los Pinos is recognized as a “pulmón hídrico”—a vital hydric resource for the conservation of soils, flora, and fauna in the region.

Since 1825, the Ríos family has emphasized conservation techniques and farm productivity, ensuring the health of the land while continuing a generational tradition of coffee production.

RITUAL BLENDS

WEEK THREE | WEEK FOUR

The two become one.
These blends are not meant to compete with the single-origin cups, but to show how collaboration creates something entirely new.

WEEK THREE 70 / 30 Costa Rica | Guatemala Blend

A heavier lean into Black Lodge’s Costa Rican profile. Expect warmth, sweetness, and structure— brown sugar and softened fruit.

WEEK FOUR 30 / 70 Costa Rica | Guatemala Blend

The Guatemalan coffee takes the lead here, allowing rich chocolate notes (depending on their roast) to surface, with Black Lodge providing balance underneath.
